2024-25 Community Report: Giving Matters
In 1985, a small group of fundraisers and an ambitious board pursued a simple goal: creating a Foundation solely dedicated to raising funds to support excellence in health care for their hometown.
Since then, philanthropy in Langley has evolved with approaches that would make our founders proud.
Collaborating with social and health service providers, community organizations, philanthropists, government partners and donor groups yielded impressive results in 2024-25, with donor commitments of $2.25 million for hospital equipment and $400,000 for health services benefiting seniors, young people and our community’s most vulnerable residents.
Looking ahead to 2025-26, the Foundation will advocate with government partners for:
A proposed 300-bed long-term care residence on the hospital campus for Langley’s elderly,
Expanded hospital capacity needed to meet Langley’s rapid growth,
Expanding Langley Memorial’s day surgical unit and Ambulatory Day Care and constructing a new south tower,
And creating state-of-the-art operating rooms and replacing facilities that are too small and outdated for modern procedures.
These long-term goals demand the same optimism that inspired our founders nearly four decades ago.
Alongside our donors and partners, we’re confident we can meet any challenge and serve our community with excellence for generations to come.
