Supporting Seniors in Langley

As Langley grows, so does the need for reliable, trusted seniors care in the community. Today, 37 per cent of Langley residents are over 65 years old and many need complex, ongoing support.

From acute care to home health services, from occupational therapy to wellness programs, care is built around the real needs of the older adults in our lives.

To ensure seniors’ health and quality of life at Langley Memorial Hospital and in the community, the Foundation is committed to raising $1 million a year to upgrade medical equipment at the hospital and in our long-term care residences, as well as providing funding needed to ensure seniors have access to programs and services that allow them to age at home with support.

Areas of Need

  • When seniors need medical care at Langley Memorial, every caregiver must have the best equipment to provide the best care possible.

Across the hospital, seniors are treated at the Specialized Seniors’ Clinic, long-term care, the Medicine Unit, the Intensive Care Unit and Medical Imaging.

To help seniors sustain good health, the Foundation needs to upgrade equipment and fund programs in Home Health and the Whatever It Takes program, which supports discharged patients as they settle home in comfort.

This is local fundraising with direct, visible impact for all seniors.

  • High-quality long-term care in Langley is all about comfort, dignity and connection.

While we continue to plan for a new facility, immediate upgrades are essential. Your donations support the purchase of new beds, mattresses and funding for programs like music therapy.

Every investment improves daily life for seniors and peace of mind for families.

  • The clinic supports frail seniors living independently in the community.

Donor funding provides mobility aids and balance equipment, exam beds for geriatric care and technology for in-person and virtual visits. With the right equipment, specialists can be more proactive and focus on seniors’ wellness and healthy lifestyles.

Your gift expands every senior’s access to specialized care in Langley and helps them maintain their independence, social connections and vitality longer.

  • Nearly 50 per cent of Emergency Department visits are linked to malnutrition and many involve seniors living in isolation.

Through local partnerships, we fund nutritious meal delivery and wellness checks to keep seniors and vulnerable residents safe, nourished and independent at home.

Better nutrition leads to fewer hospitalizations, stronger health outcomes for seniors and less strain on the system.

  • We are building the future of seniors’ health care in Langley, starting now.

A $3 million Seniors Endowment will fund ongoing equipment and quality-of-life programs in our long-term care facilities.

The Foundation’s Infrastructure Fund supports future capital projects such as a new long-term care facility and expansion of the hospital.

This is Langley-first leadership: every dollar stays local to strengthen health care services for seniors today and future generations.
