Long-Term Care in Langley
Langley is the fastest-growing community in Metro Vancouver. With 37 per cent of our population over 65 years of age, our seniors population is higher than the regional average.
Langley’s seniors have helped build our community. They have been our teachers, our mentors and our caregivers.
For years, we’ve seen our long-term care facility on the hospital campus age and become outdated all while waitlists for long-term beds have grown.
On September 11, 2024 the province announced plans to bring a new long-term care facility to Langley and we’re thrilled that the government has made our community’s seniors a priority.
New residences will add 300 beds, providing modern, dignified housing for seniors and people with disabilities. The new residence includes amenities that meet the needs of our growing population and help improve care and quality of life:
Private rooms with individual bathrooms, for privacy and infection control
Shared spaces like gardens, multipurpose rooms and dining areas
Specialized areas including a sensory room, day program space and rehabilitation garden
To provide the best in comfort and care for our growing number of seniors, LCHHF has created a Hospital Infrastructure Fund, to rise to the occasion and help build a new long-term care facility that our seniors deserve as they age.
