United for fair funding
As part of our commitment to improving health care close to home, Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation has joined forces with Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation and Peace Arch Hospital + Community Health Foundation to create the South Fraser Healthcare Alliance.
Thirty-nine per cent of BC’s population lives in Fraser Health, yet our region receives only 22 per cent of the health care budget. Fraser Health has fewer acute care beds per person, and the second fewest long-term care beds, of any health authority in BC.
This means extended waits in Langley Memorial’s Emergency Department and an overcrowded hospital. Fraser Health needs the beds and capacity to match the population it serves.
Founded by the Foundations supporting Delta, Langley and Peace Arch hospitals, and supported by business and community leaders across South Fraser, we are advocating for strong, equitable health care access and funding for our region.
