Executive Director Heather Scott Announces Retirement
Langley Community Health & Hospital Foundation (LCHHF) shares, both in celebration and with a sense of heartfelt loss, that executive director Heather Scott will be retiring from her position later this year.
Since joining the Foundation in May 2020, Heather has brought extraordinary leadership, compassion and vision to our organization. She arrived with extensive experience in the philanthropic and non-profit sector, both within the Lower Mainland and nationally, including her role as Director of Development and BC/Yukon Operations with The Terry Fox Foundation.
During her tenure with LCHHF, Heather has played a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s impact - working closely with donors, health care partners and the broader community to advance local health care in Langley and ensure local health care programs and services get the funding they need to be excellent, accessible and sustainable.
Reflecting on her time with the Foundation, Heather shared her gratitude for the community she has served:
“It has been a privilege to support the Langley community - advocating for the very best in health care and helping ensure that local hospital and community health care remain world class. Philanthropy has always been close to my heart, and I am incredibly grateful for the generosity and commitment of our donors. Together, we have made a meaningful difference, and I am so proud of what we have accomplished.
I also have great confidence in the future of the Foundation - it is in excellent hands through the dedication of its staff and the strong leadership of the Board.”
Board Chair Nolan Clark notes the significant progress achieved under Heather’s guidance:
"Heather joined us during the COVID-19 pandemic and demonstrated exceptional leadership that allowed the Foundation to remain open and working to facilitate the donations needed to support the critical relief efforts our hospital and community health care partners were playing. She inspired our community to come together when they were needed most. Heather moved on to impactful campaigns supporting youth in our community, including our campaigns to build the new Langley Foundry and the Langley Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. Heather’s vision, commitment to community and ability to connect donors to our cause have left an enduring mark on the Foundation and the people it serves.”
