Celebrating Business Success with Charity Gala

For Jag Sikham and Aman Bring, success is not measured solely by the growth of the business they built. It’s measured also by the impact they leave on the well-being of the communities they serve.

And by this standard, their success is substantial. The co-founders of the Surrey-based East to West Group of Companies have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars for local non-profits over their decade running a local mortgage and equipment financing business.

To celebrate their decennial this past November, Jag and Aman focused on honouring the clients and financial partners they work with by hosting 700 guests at their East to West fundraising gala, and raising $225,655 to support Langley’s first Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) through LCHHF.

The CYAC’s “Circle of Care” model brings multiple services under one roof: RCMP officers, Ministry of Child and Family Development staff, Indigenous child and family service providers, counsellors and other supports tailored to each child.

This team approach allows children to share their story at the CYAC to just one or two service providers. Behind the scenes, professionals share information and coordinate next steps, rather than making the child repeat painful experiences multiple times at multiple locations.

That coordination devoted to the welfare of children in crisis appealed to Jag and Aman.

“Giving back, especially to children who are overcoming challenges, is one way we can help ensure the next generation has every opportunity to thrive,” says Sikham.

“We’ve always believed that if you’re fortunate enough to succeed in business, you should help create opportunities for others to succeed as well.”
